![]() ![]() Located within the Pine Valley Recreation Area are six overnight family campgrounds, two overnight group areas, four day-use group sites and an amphitheater. Visitors enjoy fishing at nearby Pine Valley Reservoir and exploring local trails. The valley offers a great escape from the heat of the southern Utah desert. Pine Valley Recreation Area is located in scenic Pine Valley, Utah at an elevation of 6,900 feet. Water is available through spigots in the campground and there are flush toilets and one accessible vault toilet in the lower loop. Each site has a fire pit/grill and a picnic table. Navajo Lake Campground features 15 single sites, one double site and 11 hike-in tent only sites. The Navajo Lake loop trail is accessed from the campground on the Navajo Lake trail. The 34-mile Virgin River Rim Trail passes near the campground and is open to hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. Hiking and biking are popular activities as well. The Virgin River Rim Trail is accessible from the campground it offers panoramic views of Zion National Park, the Kolob Plateau and the Pine Valley Mountains.Navajo Lake offers great canoeing, kayaking and fishing. Commercial boat rental and launching are available, as are lodging and groceries at nearby Navajo Lake Lodge. Navajo Lake Campground, located on the shores of Navajo Lake, provides a spectacular setting for boating, camping, fishing, hiking and photography. ![]() Horses may be kept in a corral just down the road. A vault toilet is located a short walk from the yurt. A small deck extends the space outside with a picnic table and fire ring below. At 20 feet in diameter, this yurt is comfortably furnished with two sets of bunk beds with mattresses, two cots, table and chairs, wood stove, propane stove, lanterns, pots and pans, dishes and utensils. When the roads are closed by snow, an 8.5 mile snowmobile ride will get you there. The yurt is situated just off the Hells Backbone Road and is accessed by road during summer and fall. Cowpuncher YurtĬowpuncher Yurt is located in the Dixie National Forest, 20 miles northeast of the town of Escalante in southern Utah. Fishing docks are located at Upper and Lower Barker Reservoirs. Amenities include accessible vault toilets and bear-proof food storage lockers. Drinking water is provided from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Horses are permitted in the Porter group site. This recreation area contains 13 single-family sites, three group campsites and a day-use area. Visitors enjoy canoeing, fishing and exploring local trails. Barker Recreation Area is located high on the Colorado Plateau at an elevation of 9,300 feet. ![]()
